Youth & Work

The estimated youth unemployment rate in Kenya was at 7.24 percent positioning among the highest in East Africa. Annually, nearly 1 million young people enter the labor market adding to the existing pool of job seekers, yet the country’s economy is not creating enough jobs to absorb the growing working age population

In the communities we work, we make sure that youth are self-reliant and ready for work. Our key activities:

  • TVET & AVET skills training for out-of-school youth.
  • Youth group formation, capacity building and linkages to micro-finance institutes and markets.
  • Capacity building on alternative sources of income besides formal employment.
  • Inclusion of youth with a disability within our program.
