Running programmes
Child-Centred Community Development (CCCD) programme Madi Okollo
Goal: to help children and their families address the main problems they face. The programme works with the whole community to make sure children are safe, supported and can grow. Children are encouraged to take part in groups, children’s parliaments, and other activities. These help children become more confident and able to protect themselves, while making the community stronger and better for children.
Three main focus areas:
- Helping more young children get early education by building and equipping ECD centres, training local caregivers and giving children a good start in learning and care
- Supporting families by teaching better parenting, encouraging good care for children, improving nutrition and health, and making homes safer. The programme also helps families earn more and protects children both at home and in the community
- Building a safer and supportive community for children by bringing together schools, health workers, police and local leaders to work as a team. This includes community meetings, parenting sessions, and ways for parents, children, teachers, and leaders to share responsibility.
