Rwanda is located in East Africa and borders Burundi, Congo-Kinshasa, Uganda and Tanzania. More than 12 million people live in the country. Help a Child operates in Rwanda with the aim of addressing various challenges faced by children and their communities. Rwanda, without ignoring the progress achieved, still faces poverty-related issues as well as resulting distress. Help a Child Rwanda focuses on initiatives aimed at poverty reduction and socio-economic resilience to enhance the well-being of children and families.
We also empower communities, especially women and youth, improving access to and quality of education through capacity building & National Education Systems strengthening. Help a Child works, in collaboration with different stakeholders (Ready for School, Pharus, EO Metterdaad, UNICEF, UN Women, World Servants, AEE Rwanda, EPR and the Government of Rwanda), on Youth and ECD programs to enhance youth vocational training educational hands-on skills and employment opportunities, Early Childhood Education and ECD infrastructure as well as parent and teacher training.
