Child Participation

Help a Child Rwanda uses three main approaches to increase child participation within the community programs:

  • Forming and managing children’s groups where children meet to gain skills and information to keep themselves healthy and safe as well as develop their confidence.
  • Supporting children with a disability.
  • Arranging competitions for the children participation groups on district level.
Child group meeting in Bugesera. The children come together to sing, play, discuss community issues, and to do sports and theater, which helps them to improve their self-reliance and social skills. In 2019, Help a Child supported 71 of these child groups.
