Working with Help a Child

according to Mary

Mary, visiting a networking event in Malawi, together with CEO Andries Schuttinga.

“I feel more like being part of a family, not just an employee.”

There is more than one thing that I like about my work. Through my job I can bring positive changes in the lives of other people, especially children and their families. It is an opportunity to give back what I received, and I do not take for granted.
Before Help a Child appeared on my horizon, I had been a development worker for 16 years. I loved doing this work, however I had never worked with a dedicated Christian organization. I am a staunch Christian and the mission of Help a Child really touched the core of everything I believe in. That was my main attraction to apply for this position.
Help a Child is an inclusive, innovative and nurturing organization. I feel more like being part of a family, not just an employee. My voice is heard and I can truly say that I am part of the change that we bring in people’s lives.

Here, I am in a place where I can grow, professionally ánd spiritually.

I am grateful that I can contribute to the development of my country. There is so much that needs to be done in Malawi. Help a Child is able to play an important role in changing things for the better. Here, I am in a place where I can grow, professionally ánd spiritually.
